Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Division

The purpose of the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Division is to prepare professional engineers in the fields of Mechanical, Industrial, Mechatronics and Biomedical Systems, who have the knowledge, skills and attitudes to provide useful services to society with ethics, quality and productivity, achieving competitiveness through technology, design and innovation in materials, products, systems and processes that support national development.

Funtions

The Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Division has as substantive functions teaching, the generation of knowledge and its dissemination. To cover with the first one, it has four careers: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering and Biomedical Systems Engineering, the latter of recent creation. It also participates directly in the Postgraduate Program in Engineering of UNAM, in the fields of knowledge in Mechanical Engineering and Systems Engineering, and to a lesser extent in the Postgraduate Program in Materials Science and Engineering. As for the generation of knowledge, the Division has for more than three decades traditionally developed basic research projects and technological development, as well as dissemination of results in national and international congresses and refereed journals
